July 2002,
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

This was the first of a series of family beach trips to Mexico and the Caribbean.  The trip was to a resort on Banderas Bay by the city of Puerto Vallarta which is on Mexico's west coast.  This is a very pretty part of Mexico having nice mountains and beaches.  We spent the majority of our time at the resort but did visit the nearby city a couple times.  Puerto Vallarta is a neat old city that has great old architecture, hilly streets and tourist traps.  Unfortunately we did not have a camera with us when we visited the city.  The resort itself had good restaurants, a nice pool and a great beach.  Although the beach was not suitable for snorkeling it was very good for swimming and boogie boarding.
Parasailing right off the beach was very popular and most of us got up the nearve to give it a try.  This trip was arranged through Funjet Vacations.
