Bowsaw

This saw was made from a small bing cherry tree that died. The size of the saw was determined by the length of straight members that I could salvage from the tree. All of the wood and metal work was performed using hand tools (except blade, nuts and washers). No sandpaper was used. The blade is a 26 inch length of a Starrett inch wide, 3 tpi, hook tooth bandsaw blade.

Blade fitting close up. one end of two .375 dia brass rods was threaded and the other slotted. two .125 dia brass rods were threaded to secure the blade. The Brass nuts and washers are standard items.
